In today's age of massive spending on campaigns, an informed electorate is more important than ever. Election Day could be spent on contemplation and research of the different candidates for office if there was a holiday. Isn't voting as important as any holiday? Haven't enough people suffered and given everything for the right to vote? Isn't voting something that deserves to be celebrated?
When you consider the implications, making Election Day a holiday will increase voter turnout, increase voting awareness, and lead to a more democratic election.
