Make Election Day a National Holiday.

Created by D.F. on January 18, 2013

Every American citizen should be able to exercise his or her right to vote. By ignoring the importance of election day, the Federal Government and the governments of the several states severely limit who is able to vote. Working class people are sometimes unable to get to the polls, and long lines and rushes to polling stations dissuade countless citizens.
By making Election Day a Federal Holiday, the United States ensures that all citizens will have the opportunity to participate in the democratic process.
