Voting is vital to our democracy. Every effort should be made to permit people to exercise their constitutionally guaranteed right to vote. It should not be encumbered.
Hourly wage earners and the working poor who may have two or more jobs, in particular, lose wages when they take time off from work to vote. That constitutes an illegal poll tax for such citizens and disfranchises our poorest citizens.
Election days must be federal and state holidays.
