Elections give us, the people, the power to choose our future leader and make decisions on our behalf. Other countries do not have the freedom and right to vote like we do.
While having to make choices like taking unpaid time off or waking up extra early before work, just to participate in our nation's election, or just not voting at all, many choose the latter. Some states have the voters leave law, unfortunately that doesn't apply to all citizens of America, and it should.
Many people choose not to vote due to these simple choices, which is why Election Day should be a national holiday. We are given the right to vote and we should be able to do it, without anything standing in the way of that.
