We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Make Election Day a national holiday.

Created by J.B. on November 11, 2016

As Americans, we have the power to choose who we want representing us in government. There have been too many negative stories lately about people struggling to vote with long lines and polling places being shut down. If voting is so important, why is it done on a Tuesday during primary working hours?

Almost 50% of the registered voters did not vote in 2016 and something needs to change.

Most national holidays fall on a Monday and the country as a working whole usually have the day off. Why not apply this to Election Day?

Change election day to the first Monday of November and declare it a national holiday so people who normally might not be able to vote have a fair chance.
