We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Make Election Day A National Holiday

Created by J.S. on November 29, 2016

Election day, the most vital day in our democracy, can be a scheduling problem for many families and individuals resulting in reduced aggregate turn out. In addition, the most recent election day saw massive lines and wait times all across the U.S., potentially further hindering turn out. We are petitioning to make Election day a Federal holiday allowing the American people to more flexibly find the time to vote thereby improve turn out and a more cherished engagement. If President's day can be a Federal holiday, the day we decide who should be the next president should be no less.
