We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Make Election Day a national holiday instead of Columbus Day

Created by A.C. on December 08, 2016

Voting is the most important civic duty and right of American citizens. The fact that long lines or the inability to take off work or find child care dissuade American people from voting, especially during important elections like the 2016 presidential election, is disappointing. If Election Day were a national holiday, this would make it exponentially easier for Americans to exercise their right to vote and would be an enormous step for American democracy. (AC JMS)
