Make Election Day a National Holiday so Everyone has the Opportunity to Vote.

Created by M.W. on March 04, 2016

Voting in government elections is the most important duty of an American citizen, yet only a small percentage of registered voters cast a ballot on Election Day. Many people who have to work more than 40 hours a week do not have the opportunity to vote or are too exhausted. Other situations may require people to miss the opportunity to participate in the election process.

By making Election Day a National Holiday more attention could be placed on the importance of voting to encourage people to vote. It would be a national day not only to vote, but to celebrate our right to vote and teach our children and grandchildren why we and they should value that right.
