We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Make Election Day an official federal holiday to increase voter turnout in future elections.

Created by D.S. on July 18, 2016

Many individuals are not able to vote due to their workplace obligations, or may be dissuaded from voting should they have a night shift scheduled during Election Day and need to rest during the daytime. In many other countries, Election Day is a official holiday so that people are not prevented from participating in the democratic process due to their work schedules. We call upon the administration to make Election Day an official federal holiday in hopes of increasing voter turnout and allowing anyone who wishes to participate in the democratic process to be able to do so.
