We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Make Emergency Brake Assist/Anti Collision Systems mandatory in cars and trucks

Created by M.K. on May 18, 2016

Many accidents on roadways in the United Stated happen because too many drivers are simply not prepared for maximum braking. Drivers may be distracted by smart phone usage, children riding along or using the car’s entertainment systems. Some drivers operating a vehicle may simply be too tired. Emergency Brake Assist systems are already available features in new cars but not yet mandatory. I hereby petition the government to make it mandatory for all car AND truck makers (including semi-trucks) to include Emergency Brake Assist for all new cars sold in the US beginning 2018. This will reduce the amount of traffic incidents and save thousands of lives on US roadways.
