Make EMT/CPR courses have mandatory training in symptoms and treatment of FEMALE heart attacks.

Created by T.G. on January 29, 2013

Heart disease is the number one killer of women in America. Approximately 26% of women who die in this country every year die of heart disease, which calculates about 316, 000 women a year.
You can’t show a topless woman on TV - and you can’t defibrillate a woman in a bra. So victims of heart attacks on TV are always male. Male symptoms of heart attack have thus been labeled "typical" symptoms of heart attack, however over 40% of women who have heart attacks report never having had the "typical" symptoms, rather, they had back and jaw pain. Many female heart attacks go untreated or mislabeled as "panic attacks" for this reason. We urge the white house to make all EMT and CPR training courses with Heart-attack treatment teach female heart attack symptoms in FULL.
