Whereas it has become obvious that our elected officials do not understand how our economy works; and whereas our elected officials have clearly been listening to investment bankers, rather than to educated economists for advice regarding the national economy for at least 30 years; and whereas it appears our government is currently doing the exact same things that exacerbated the depression in the 1930's (e.g. cutting jobs, cutting contracts, cutting programs, doing the bidding of the 1%), we, the people, petition our government to enact legislation to make Paul Krugman's book, "End this Depression Now", required reading for all elected officials and their staff members at the the federal level. Simply put, stop listening to Wall Street bankers and start listening to the economists.
