Every day 96 Americans die and countless others are injured, often permanently, due to human driving errors.
Self Driving cars are going to happen in the future. But how long will it take to make sure that they are (1) safer than human drivers and (2) available to anyone who needs it, whether through private ownership or ride-share platforms such as Uber and Lyft?
35,000 Americans *Every Year* will die until we solve this crisis. If this were a disease we would be working non-stop to cure it. So lets cure it.
In the process, Self Driving cars will reduce carbon emissions as they decrease road traffic and emissions. Further, the technology we create can be exported to other countries.
The tax revenue from the lives saved will be enough to offset the cost of this initiative.
