Make English the official language of the United States of America

Created by C.K. on November 13, 2012

English as an official language will aid in American assimilation and unity. As President Theodore Roosevelt once said: "We have one language here, and that is the English language, and we intend to see that the [assimilation] crucible turns our people out as Americans."

This is a common provision in many countries abroad, and a reasonable request by a government and nation that has always conducted its official governing in English. This ensures that first responders can always provide assistance since there is a common language

Having a common language creates equal opportunities for all. Learning to speak English empowers immigrants and can increase their education, since bilingual initiatives can be very costly for institutions

87% of American voters support making English officl
