In order to allow consumers the ability to choose the exact content of their cable subscriptions, cable providers should be required to make every cable channel available through a la carte ordering/subscribing (at fair prices) in addition to their normal cable packaging. Allowing consumers to choose what they receive in it's entirety, versus forcing consumers to purchase unwanted channels would promote a competitive market, protect consumers from unwanted content, and should open up the cable market to more viewers/subscribers due to lower costs associated with a la carte ordering/subscribing.
