make every school in the country inaccessible to anyone but the students and the staff. No one gets in, no one gets hurt

Develop or implement a current system for anyone who does not attend or work at a school, whereby their ID is scanned, a video of them at the door is monitored, a metal detector is passed through and they are personally escorted through the school to their destination or they are met a the door for deliveries. No cost is too high for this. No cost is higher than lives lost. Times have changed, and children must be protected from the mentally ill and dangerous. If we can't predict where, when and how it will happen, we can at least make it impossible in our nation's schools.
