Make Factory Farming Illegal, and Hold Farms to Higher Standards for Animal Welfare

Factory farming is the practice of keeping a huge amount of farm animals in a very confined space so as to maximize profit with no concern for the animals. The space in a factory farm is so confined, in fact, that the animals have no room even to move. These animals are bred unnaturally, to have certain profit-increasing enhancements which jeopardize the health of the animals. Often, these farms fail to operate within legal limits of animal welfare and continue to do so unhampered. Not only is this practice inhumane, but it is also a large source of pollution in our rivers, and a large propagator of Salmonella and E. Coli. This petition calls upon Congress to make factory farming illegal across all 50 states and to implement a stricter code for the health of farm animals.
