The internet is an integral part of our lives much like water and electricity, so why is the FCC allowing the telecom industry to make it a money machine? The new rules proposed by the FCC will allow these companies to control the internet traffic and discriminate against content providers based on whether they are willing to pay for it or not. The consumer will have to pay more as this may lead to the loss of current free content or a raise in the price of paid content. This effectively abolishes net neutrality and limits the internet user's freedom to access any content they choose, which can be seen as a form of censorship.
We petition the Obama Administration to encourage the FCC to re-enforce net neutrality and keep the internet open and free permanently for Americans.
