Over the past few years, consumers have reported many dogs getting sick from jerky treats made in China. The dog treats are reportedly causing kidney failure and include a number of manufacturers and products made from chicken, duck, dried sweet potato, yam and pork (pig ears).
Waggin Train sells jerky treats that may also be branded by other names such as stix, chips, poppers, tenders, drumettes, kabob’s, strips, fries, lollipops, twists, wraps, bars, tops, treats, and discs.
The products have NOT been recalled by the manufacturers or FDA, but the FDA and veterinarians have issued health warnings to pet owners regarding the treats.
Over 2000 dogs have been reported to the FDA as being made sick, and at least 360 dogs have reportedly died after eating the treats.
