There is no federal recognition, funding or support for Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood.
SUDC affects 1.5 of every 100,000 children*, just .8 away from the mortality rate of America's #1 killer of children by disease, Pediatric Cancer (2.3 of every 100,000**) yet no one, including most doctors giving the diagnosis, have even heard of it.
Though there are awareness months and funds for research for SIDS parents and for families struggling with other types of diagnosis, SUDC parents are left without our children, peer or community support or research for cause. Please give us space on the calendar, in the budget, and in the hearts of our country.
