Right now there are too many millionaires holding public office in order to support their own interests. Candidates are able to purchase more media and support than thier less wealthy conterparts who are more aligned with the average working American. Publicly financed Federal elections would put candidates on equal footing where pure wealth isn't able to tip the scales.
