This petition is aimed to have the federal government create a law that requires cities of a population of 50,000 people or higher to provide compost collection. However in areas where the average outdoor space is 10x10 feet, compost collection to be optional since residents would have to ability to compost themselves. Compost is not only good for our gardens but it is also critical when reducing the size and harmful outcomes of landfills. This compost initiative would also create many jobs in an economy that desperately needs them.
