Recycling is a very important step to sustainability, lower costs for packaging of goods, and a healthier environment. By making a law requiring all trash pick up companies provide, free of charge, curbside recycling it will result in higher recycling rates. Also, the customers of such companies must comply, by law. The trash pick up companies can make money off of the recyclables. This is a win/win situation for all. I suggest they also stress the importance of recycling CFL bulbs as well as electronics and batteries.
