Not only will criminals know where to target likely unarmed homes, but will be able to target possibly armed homes that may have weapons.
This is hugely dangerous because in the United States, one of the largest sources of illegal handguns is theft from registered, legal owners.
Please prevent what some news outlets have done from happening in the future, and protect both armed and unarmed Americans.
