Financial abuse is a primary reason why victims stay in abusive relationships. Financial abuse makes it so if the victim does leave they are unable to have access to money, housing & often need state/gov aid and shelters. Abusers use accts of victims & victims are often not in a position to say no. They are afraid. Victims face the financial consequences and are left with children who need to be supported & provided healthcare and many don't qualify for legal aid representation because of abusive partners or spouses income. It's time to make this a crime. Financial abuse needs to be a crime paid by the abuser in the form restitution to the victim. I'm also asking for bank regulations to help victims. Allow for victims to start over and break free. Clear the victims name.
