Every day, we hear about the impending "Fiscal Cliff." As specified in the Budget Control Act of 2011, if new deficit reduction legislation isn't passed by December 31, we will face across the board spending cuts and tax increases on January 1, 2013. The effects of these "sequestrations" could be devastating for many Americans who depend on federal aid and can't afford to pay higher taxes. President Obama and congressional leaders meet everyday, but there is no transparency in the process. We, the American people have a right to know exactly what our elected leaders are deciding about this critical issue that will affect so many of us. The administration should televise the proceedings on a nonpartisan network such as C-Span and publish daily reports on the progress of the negotiations.
