The current level of anthropogenic air pollution is incredibly high. The combustion of fossils fuels are the leading cause of air pollution. Ozone (O3) is a harmful pollutant at ground level, and is created when NOx and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) react in sunlight an heat. These create irritable effects to the eyes, nose, and throat, as well as induce headaches, nausea, and allergies. Long term effects are lung cancer, heart disease, damage to the brain, liver, nerves, and kidneys. Visibility has decreased. Many of the aesthetic parts of our country have been harmed, and danger to human and animal health are now a very real problem. Please solve our fuel combustion related problems, and create an alternative fuel source.
