make foodstamp (government assistance) people go through the same things as unemployment people.

Foostamps and other government type assistance programs is being abused and it is no longer a temporary assistance. It has now been turned into a permanent living. People that try to make it by working fell hard with the economy and they are made to go look for a job and show proof or they cannot get their "very cheap" check that is given. I recently read where Georgia is trying to pass a new mandatory thing for them which is community volunteer work for at least 20 hours a week. After you take off gas of all this running around, there is no money left. People that receives foodstamps & things only have to do paperwork every so often. It needs to be what it was made for.. a TEMPORARY assistance. Make these people show proof of school or looking for work.
