Eisenhower predicted what has come to be with the military industrial complex. It is terrible the amount of waste that goes into the military. Harry Truman during WWII sought out and ended wasteful practices and saved millions of dollars.

As I'm sure you know, Eisenhower was a General, and Supreme Allied Commander in WWII. And he saw the terrors of war, and the threats of war mongering.
