Voter suppression and disenfranchisement has caused schisms in both major political parties in the U.S. Affecting those with low income, the young, and the marginalized, voter suppression has in many ways changed the political climate this election cycle. In an effort to correct this in a bipartisan way we ask that President Obama sign an executive order to
- make General Election Day a national bank holiday;
- require employers to give employees 3 hours off to vote;
and
- automatically register voters at 18.
Let all persons with the right to vote have a chance to decide who governs them.
