Make genetic testing affordable to any and all U.S. citizens. Also make it so that such testing is covered by health insurance plans like medicaid. This type of testing should be performed voluntarily. Ultimately the goal of this type of testing would be for the prevention of disabilities, diseases and anomalies. Furthermore genetic testing would afford families or individuals an advantage in family planning. It would serve as a prevention tool in addition to the additional pregnancy exams for women. In addition to improving peoples health, this testing could prevent and terminate the birth of a fetus with apparent anomalies. In case technology fails to detect disability disease or anomalies and a child is born unhealthy the couple should consider termination of the child within the month.
