For the purpose of this petition, gerrymandering is the act of drawing voter districts to the advantage of one political interest over all others. The United States has already made gerrymandering of voter districts illegal when it infringes on a racial groups right to representation.
American citizens deserve to be represented equally by their government. This petition asks that all forms of voter district gerrymandering be made illegal at all levels, federal to local. Voter districts should be determined according to geographic boundaries. Voter districts should never be drawn in relation to demographic considerations such as ethnicity, political party affiliation, religious preference, financial affluence, etc. Give power back to voter so we can fire ineffective representatives.
