Make gerrymandering illegal in favor of free and fair elections.

Created by K.H. on August 10, 2013

The common practice of "gerrymandering", or redrawing political voting districts to favor the majority party in future elections should be illegal.
A more equitable process should be implemented such that when adjustment to districts are made, they do not drown out an opposition party's votes.
A simple grid system, wherein any portion of a state within one grid square must be included in the same voting district, and any other grid squares belonging to that same district must be in physical juxtaposition to any other grid squares in that district, seems like it would limit the reach of this unethical vote-grabbing.
This is only one idea for correcting this unjust process, but the fact remains that as long as gerrymandering is freely practiced, we do not have "free and fair elections".
