The health of Americans is important and the health of future generations is essential. Allowing companies to pollute and poison our nation's food supply hurts the people and environment of this country.
The administration should set standards for the following:
1. GMO foods or foods that contain GMOs must be labeled.
2. Organizations that provide GMO seeds or products must be held liable for all side effects associated with their products.
3. GMO's must be proven safe via transparent testing.
4. When suspicion arises regarding the safety of a GMO product, the product must be recalled within 48 hours and should not be allowed on the market until safety is assured.
5. All future legislation regarding GMOs must be subject to a 2/3 majority popular vote via citizen ballots.
