Make Government Housing Programs include Mold Testing in homes a part of Housing Inspection Standards.

Created by A.C. on March 30, 2012

All states are aware of the dangerous effects of toxic mold exposure to otherwise healthy individuals and the even more deadly effects it has on persons with compromised immune systems (HIV/AIDS Patients, Elderly, Infants, Diabetics, etc.) Despite the acknowledgment of the dangers of exposure to toxic mold, there are no laws requiring set standards for the proper assessment or treatment of mold infestations in homes. This must be done by independent contractors. This would normally not be a problem however the majority of companies that provide these services require that you are the property owner and it is extremely costly. As a renter you are left out of the loop and in cases such as mine when you discover your illnesses are caused by mold exposure in your home,it is too late.
