There have been reports of shootings occurring at schools, airports, and other public areas. In order to keep law-abiding people safe from shooters so-called "gun-free" zones were instituted. Obviously, based on the reports of shootings in these places, there is no guarantee that these areas are in fact "gun-free" This is a petition to make it illegal for declaring public areas (not private property) "gun-free zones" without reasonably ensuring the safety of the public within those areas by searching all who enter. I believe this will lower the probability of attacks on law-abiding people when they are forced to disarm themselves in "gun-free zones." Without the reasonable guarantee of these zones being free from guns, law-abiding weapons carriers should be allowed to carry their weapons.
