It sounds a bit silly in the face of far more important problems we face such as poverty, education and war, but culture is what makes America. It is what it means to a have society, and to assume that this day out of the year is less celebrated than Presidents' Day is an exclusion of culture. This nation is stressed out, and if for no other reason, declare Halloween that one day where 300 million people can relax, be themselves, and have fun.
