The Food and Drug Administration regulates everything that we consume from pharmaceuticals to even the containers that we buy our food in. The FDA is heavily influenced by established corporations. People who literally have direct ties to corporations run the FDA and other regulatory bodies.
The reason we need to make it an elected office is so that We the People of the United States of America can regain control of this regulatory body. The FDA oversees and arguably has more power than any other body in the government simply for the fact that America is the largest consumer economy in the world.
