make health care coverage of sex reassignment surgery mandatory for all private companies that offer health care plans

This petition is to make it mandatory for all private companies in all 50 states that offer health care as an employee benefit to have to offer another health care plan that also covers Sex Reassignment Surgery. This is not to replace the plans that do not cover Sex Reassignment Surgery and that are already in place but to supplement them with a plan that does cover this surgery for all M to F and F to M transsexuals in this country.
This would help solidify the Governments, American Medical Association, the Psychiatric and Therapists positions that Sex Reassignment Surgery is not cosmetic and also an approved and needed final therapy for transsexuals to be whole and to live as normal a life as is possible for them.
