To require the Veterans Administration to make an automatic presumption of service connection for hepatitis C infection for any veteran who served during the Vietnam era (the highest percentage of veterans with Hep C) . Cross contamination via the pneumatic jet injectors that administered immunizations during basic training is highly suspected. Hepatitis C has a long latency period of 30 to 40 years before symptoms manifest themselves. This period hinders early diagnosis, thus makes it almost impossible to find a nexus for service connection. All scientific evidence strongly suggests that the pneumatic jet injectors infected service men via cross contamination of blood. The Department of Defense withdrew the use of jet injectors due to possible cross contamination concerns.
