This petition will allow consumers of Cable and satellite Television content to get High Definition free of charge. Currently Cable and satellite companies charge an upgrade free of 100 to 500 dollars to change from Standard Definition services to high definition services. Along with this upgrade fee they also charge a monthly 10 dollar or as high as 30 dollars a month to get the high definition content.
This content should be free. It needs to be the industry standard in entertainment. Allowing high definition content to be provided without the extra charge will allow consumers to have extra expendable income to spend elsewhere in the economy.
Please make so encrypted digital cable and satellite signals will provide high definition content at no extra cost to their consumers.
