Since the 1970s the government has spent less and less of its budget on giving our population affordable higher education. Today, cuts in funding to public universities, as well as some of the highest interest rates on student loans have either discouraged young people from pursuing an education, or punished them for pursuing one.
An investment in higher education is crucial to reducing income inequality and in continuing to make the United States one of the most successful nations in the world.
Please let the president know how important investing in our future is by encouraging the government to give students opportunities instead of taking them away.
