It is nearly impossible for the 99.9% to own their own home. The main reason seems to be "house flipping" investors that have no interest in living on the property. So while hundreds of thousands go technically homeless, homes sit empty being bought and sold for no other reason than to leech profit to the already wealthy. Which inflates the market and creates high rents on the other side, because people can only rent.
