make husband's who divorce their wives at ages 40-70 provide spousal support and medical care when married over 20 years

Created by S.G. on November 13, 2012

A "Displaced Homemaker" is the term legally used to define women who have given up their own schooling or career in order to further their husband's career. They take care of the children, the house, the cars, and her husband's every need. These women spend over 20 years in a form of slavery, they work hard, but don't gain any real income from it.

If a man (or woman) who has been married over 20 years and the woman (or man) has given up their own career aspirations to support the spouse, there is no safety net for her. No Social Security, no healthcare, nothing. The prisons are full of women of this age who commit small crimes so at least they have a safe bed to sleep in and food and medical care.

We need to help those who are in the greatest need.
