Please make it illegal for carriers like AT&T, Verizon and for manufacturers of smart phones to lock the phones, thus severely affecting their usability in today's globalized society. Locking smart phones to be used only with certain carriers is like locking Windows to be used only on Dell PC and if you want to install it on your HP laptop, you have to buy it again or buy an unlocked version which costs 5 times the price?
Imagine your laptop being locked so it cannot be used outside the US? Imagine being charged a lot to use it outside the US? Imagine having to pay 15,000 USD for a laptop that can be used anywhere in the world? Seems ridiculous right?
Why allow Apple, AT&T, Verizon, Samsung and others to do this to phones, severely limiting competition?
