The State of Mass. allows schools to use electric shocking as a means of behavioral modification for autism spectrum disorder students/residents.
The student wore a back pack device and the staff has remote controls with the picture of the student on it to shock the student if they are acting out.
This was shown on CBS News. In one case the student was placed in full restraint on a table and shocked 31 times in 7 hours. A tape of the student seizing, wreathing and screaming is shown.
In California a care provider would face criminal abuse charges for this.
This approach is barbaric and should be banned at the national level.
In some cases people with autism are non verbal and cannot verbalize pain.
