Make the installation and use of seat belts on school buses mandatory in all states.

Created by T.W. on January 29, 2014

Installation and mandatory use of seat belts on school buses will result in fewer injuries and deaths of our children. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's website, large school buses are heavier and distribute crash forces differently than do passenger cars and light trucks. Because of this, they say the crash forces experienced by occupants are much less than those occupants of passenger cars and light trucks. They consider the seats as "compartmentalized" and believe bus seats are sufficient to protect children without the need to buckle up. However, this only applies to front and side crashes. What happens when it falls on its side? Everyone tumbles right out and their tiny bodies become battered by the very seats meant to "sufficiently protect them".
