American holidays are based solely on Christian holidays. Workers, students, and teachers of different faiths such as Islam or Judaism do not get days off from school or work in the same way as Sundays are days off for church(which also includes Easter Sunday) or Christmas Eve and Christmas day are off for businesses and schools. I am petitioning to include other religious holidays in having days off as well. While businesses and schools are closed for Christmas and Easter, even for those people who do not celebratethese holidays, citizens of different religions are forced to work on their religious holidays, making them miss their religious practice or suffer consequences and setbacks in school or business work.
