Many ISPs create and hold bandwidth limits (more often known as "data caps".
These are unfair to the general public as it is limiting their access to a free and open world (the internet). People who live in rural areas often have very low bandwidth limits (Verizon is ~10GB) which can be eaten up in a period of two weeks with light use in today's world of streaming and online gaming. In cities, bandwidth caps are still rather extreme (Comcast being ~250GB) and still can be used up very quickly.
US citizens have already invested lots of money into a next-gen internet system, but ISPs force us to pay EVEN MORE just to be able to use that network.
