We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Make it easier for people coming from the prison system to rejoin society.

Created by T.P. on September 02, 2016

People that have served their time in prison have it really hard when trying to integrate back into society. These people, our fellow americans, need to be able to join into society to help keep them on the right path. When every job you interview for turns them down, and every apartment or house they try to rent says no, because of something that is in the past, just drives vulnerable people further away from the normality that they need. They have already paid the debt that our criminal justice system handed down, whether anyone else thinks that the sentence was fair or not. A lifetime of punishment is not feasable if society wants this subsection of america to be successful and not return to whatever it was that got them in prison in the first place.
